John retired as the Chairman, President and CEO of Coltec Industries in 1999 after merging his company with Goodrich Corporation. Being an avid boater and golfer, he and his wife, Monique, chose to relocate from Oxford, Maryland to Colleton River Plantation in Bluffton, South Carolina in July, 2008.
While making several modifications to his new home, he was encouraged by his contractor to foam his attic to provide a more comfortable and efficient ambient temperature and his crawl space to seal out moisture as a preventative measure for any interior floor damage due to moisture and to also make the HVAC ductwork more efficient. This improvement was contracted to Energy One, LLC.
John was so very pleased with results of the applied insulation and impressed with the equipment and personnel of Energy One that he decided to purchase the company and relocate it from Claxton, Georgia to Bluffton, South Carolina in October 2008. John also opened up a branch in Charlotte, North Carolina.
John takes great pride in being the very best in the business of providing the proper spray foam insulation to both new construction, existing residential homes and commercial buildings.

TJ Anderson attended Swainsboro Tech to study electrical construction. He apprenticed with Y-Delta Inc. from Statesboro, GA and became the electrical superintendent from 1998 to 2004. He was also the superintendent on the Hilton Head Early Learning Center, Plastic Surgery Center, Battery Creek High School and many more projects from churches to Dot buildings.
In 2004 TJ was hired by Mitch Dyess, who started Energy One, LLC, as a full time salesman to help him take the business to the next level. Due to the hard work and dedication that TJ encompassed, Energy One's business tripled within its first year and continued to climb. In 2008, TJ bought interest into Energy One and became a partner. In 2009, John Guffey bought Energy One from Mitch Dyess and teamed up with TJ to expand the company and relocate its headquarters to Bluffton, SC.
TJ, his wife Rachel, and their son Bradlee, moved to Bluffton, SC in October 2008.They are members of Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church in Statesboro, GA.

Drew joined the Energy One team in March 2009. He attended the University of South Carolina- Columbia while majoring in economics. He is an Unlimited Licensed General Contractor and Licensed Home Builder in both South Carolina and North Carolina. Before joining the Energy One team Drew worked as a project manager and superintendent for Dumler Family, L.P.- General Contractors from 2006 to 2009, where he managed numerous commercial shell projects as well as commercial and retail up-fits. Being active in the commercial construction industry gave Drew knowledge and understanding of building science and the importance for energy efficiency. At Energy One, Drew serves as our Operations Manager and one of the Hilton Head/Bluffton area Sales Representatives. Drew resides in Bluffton, SC with his wife Christine and daughter Sophie Grace.

Kristie joined the Energy One team in March 2010. Prior to joining the Energy One team, Kristie was the Office Administrator at Estate Builders for 5 years. At Energy One, Kristie serves as our Administrator of Operations, she in charge of all office activities such as Accounting, Marketing, Ordering, Scheduling and Customer Relations for the company.
Kristie resides in Bluffton, SC with her Marine husband Skip and her daughter Ashley and son Alex as well as their 3 dogs and 3 cats.
